Case: Moderate ILA

HIDE
PrevNext

0:01

So here's a case

0:02

of very mild peripheral reticulation, as you can see.

0:06

And so this is one of these cases

0:07

where I'm not sure what's going on here.

0:09

So is this early? ILDI suspect this probably is early ILD,

0:14

but this could also represent just some scarring, right?

0:19

So this may all just go away by itself.

0:22

So I'm not quite sure.

0:23

Maybe there's a little, a Alexis superimposed on

0:25

it who really knows.

0:27

And so this is perfect for the idea

0:30

of interstitial lung abnormality.

0:32

And so what we would do here is we would invoke that,

0:34

especially if this was not in someone with suspected ILD,

0:37

they, they were low risk for interstitial lung disease.

0:41

Um, there, there are some areas here, more anteriorly,

0:43

which may be, I suspect, a possibility

0:45

of real interstitial lung disease.

0:47

There's one where I give the patient benefit of doubt.

0:49

We can invoke the ILA idea, do a CT follow-up in a year.

0:54

Obviously we do pulmonary function testing.

0:55

Now make sure that's not abnormal

0:57

and see whether this is static

0:59

or whether this progresses over time.
