Case: Aspiration with Centrilobular Nodules

HIDE
PrevNext

0:00

So another example here of central lobular nodules,

0:04

but in this case a little bit, not even a little bit,

0:07

a lot asymmetric.

0:08

So there are these patchy areas

0:10

of ground glass opacity within the right lung,

0:12

particularly within the right lower lobe,

0:14

a little bit in the right upper lobe as well.

0:16

But here in the left lung we see profuse

0:20

central lobular nodularity,

0:22

minimal interlobular septal thickening.

0:24

But look at that beautiful subpleural sparing.

0:27

It involves all pulmonary loads,

0:28

but it's a little more clustered

0:30

and some areas maybe even looks like it's tree and bud.

0:33

So it's like branching morphology.

0:35

And so this patient was a known aspirator

0:38

and this is all aspiration and or aspiration pneumonia.

0:43

So another example of central lobular nodularity.
