DOTATATE: Patient Preparation

HIDE
PrevNext

0:01

So what do we need the patient to do prior to the scan?

0:03

Well, we're gonna basically ask the patient

0:06

to void the bladder prior to the scan

0:08

and not much, it's not as complicated as is FEG.

0:13

The one thing

0:15

that these patients might be in is a long-acting,

0:20

uh, octreotide.

0:21

And there really isn't a consensus or a lot of data,

0:26

but it has been recommended to wait three to four weeks

0:29

after the last administration of these long-acting

0:33

octreotide to avoid potential blockage of the receptors.

0:37

But again, not enough evidence to support this.

0:41

So sometimes it will depend mostly on

0:45

the timing of the patients,

0:48

the sequential imaging and clinical visits and treatments.
