HIDE
PrevNext

0:00

73-year-old male that presented with mouth tingling

0:04

and left sided neck pain

0:07

who underwent a CT angiogram of the head

0:11

and neck that I'm showing you here.

0:13

He was found to have these heterogeneous

0:18

and hyper enhancing mass in the left carotid space that

0:23

as you can see, is supplying the vessels

0:27

and within the differential diagnosis.

0:31

The leading diagnosis, uh, was a carotid body paraganglioma

0:36

and less likely a venous malformation.

0:39

There were no other findings on the CT neck

0:44

because the most likely diagnosis was a paraganglioma.

0:49

This patient underwent a Dotatate PET CT

0:52

that I'm showing you here,

0:54

and you can see the intense

0:57

tracer uptake corresponding to that left

1:01

cate space mass confirming

1:04

that this is a neuroendocrine origin tumor

1:08

and is consistent with paraganglioma.

1:11

There were no other sites of the disease on this patient.
