Probability of Reaching Trial

0:01

So if you do get to trial, here's a few important things

0:04

to understand that the vast majority, the vast majority,

0:08

and I think the numbers probably 90%

0:11

or greater of these medical malpractice cases resolve

0:16

short of trial, or it may be on the eve of trial,

0:19

but short of trial, uh,

0:21

the vast majority have resolved in some fashion before then.

0:25

But, uh, the number is that about 7%

0:30

of all med mal cases that, um,

0:33

are brought reach a verdict in court.

0:37

So it's a pretty, pretty small number.

0:40

The other thing, a statistic that you might wanna be aware

0:43

of is that 70, oh, excuse me, 80% of cases that reach

0:48

a verdict or that go

0:50

to a jury in a medical malpractice case across the country,

0:54

some states hire, some states lower,

0:56

that 80% in are in favor of the defendant.

1:00

And that's an important, uh, number to be aware of.

1:03

However, the reverse is also true just as what I stated,

1:06

that I take, you know, one

1:08

or 2% of the cases I review,

1:10

I settle almost a hundred percent of the cases that I take,

1:13

which means that we've done our due diligence on both sides

1:17

and it's determined we just need

1:18

to resolve the case short of going to trial.

1:21

Um, but those are the numbers.

1:22

If it does go to trial nationwide.
