0:00

Screens everybody.

0:01

So I want to sort of finalize this course

0:05

with a very brief discussion about medical malpractice

0:09

insurance and what you should have

0:10

and what you shouldn't have and what's important.

0:12

So let's dive right in on a medical malpractice

0:17

insurance review.

0:19

So my goals and objectives are

0:21

to describe the various options

0:22

for purchasing medical liability insurance, explain some

0:26

of the terms used and some of the red flags for radiologists

0:31

or for physicians in general,

0:33

and then also for you to see a little bit of

0:34

what the rates generally are for radiologists

0:38

and subspecialty radiologists in general.

0:41

So what is the value

0:43

of having medical malpractice insurance?

0:45

Well, it's basically so that that way your personal

0:50

assets are not at risk.

0:52

The medical malpractice insurance pays for court costs,

0:54

settlements, uh, negotiate settlements, mediation

0:59

damages associated with the malpractice, uh, in lawsuit.

1:03

It prevents personal risk of your own, um, money being

1:08

required to pay for a patient.

1:10

But the key is that you need to have enough coverage

1:12

and coverage for various scenarios,

1:15

including something called wrongful death.
