0:00

Hi everybody.

0:01

My name is Judy Squires.

0:03

I am a pediatric radiologist at the University

0:05

of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the Children's Hospital

0:07

of Pittsburgh, and I'm super thrilled to be presenting this

0:11

NICU Masteries series, uh, on behalf of Modality.

0:15

Um, I do a lot of work with ultrasound

0:17

and I'm super involved with resident education.

0:20

So, um, my goal is to make this fun and educational.

0:25

So why this course?

0:27

Um, the overall goal is to improve the care

0:30

that you are able to provide to the most vulnerable

0:33

of patient populations, newborn babies

0:36

and babies in the nicu, um, who have critical illnesses

0:40

or sometimes just minor illnesses.

0:42

Um, and as a result of that, you're gonna be able

0:45

to help your NICU colleagues out to care

0:47

for these patients as well.

0:49

We're gonna review some key concepts.

0:51

Hopefully some of this will be review,

0:53

but, um, a lot of this I hope will also be new to you.

0:56

State-of-the-art information, um,

0:58

new imaging techniques that we'll go through.

1:02

This course is organized, I would say head to toe,

1:05

but we actually don't go through to the toes.

1:07

We're just going north to south.

1:09

So we'll start with brain focusing on ultrasound screening

1:12

studies with some MRI comparisons.

1:15

We'll focus on screening spine ultrasound as well

1:18

with some MRI comparisons.

1:21

We'll go through chest imaging,

1:22

then GI imaging in the abdomen,

1:25

and we'll end on, uh, genital urinary imaging.

1:29

Um, so I hope it's fun for you.

1:30

I hope you learn a lot throughout the course.

1:34

Thank you so much. Look forward to starting.
