Course Description

In this course, Dr. Judy Squires provides an overview of the principles and practice of neonatal imaging, emphasizing the unique challenges and considerations in evaluating newborn patients. This course will also reinforce essential concepts and showcase state-of-the-art imaging techniques.

Take this course to improve the care radiologists provide for the most vulnerable patient population, including newborns and NICU babies with both critical and minor illnesses. Organized in a north-to-south approach, follow along as Dr. Squires guides learners through brain and spine ultrasound, chest imaging, and gastrointestinal and genitourinary imaging.

Learn to recognize normal developmental anatomy, identify common neonatal pathologies, and understand the role of ultrasound, radiography, CT, and MRI in neonatal care.

Read alongside Dr. Squires as she walks through her approach to interpreting neonatal imaging cases like:

  • Posthemorrhagic hydrocephalus
  • Tethered cord
  • Support device complications
  • Surfactant deficiency
  • Bronchial atresia
  • Necrotizing enterocolitis
  • Hirschsprung disease
  • Adrenal hemorrhage
  • …and more!

Optimize your learning:

  • Test Yourself - Before starting the video, launch the DICOM study and complete your independent review of the case in our diagnostic web viewer.
  • Review at your own pace - Reminder to utilize the video player features to speed up or slow down the video, pause or rewind to best fit your available time and learning needs.
  • Read alongside Dr. Squires - Keep the DICOM study open while you watch Dr. Squires review the cases. We suggest popping the DICOM viewer open in a new window and viewing side by side with the video on your screen.
