0:01

So I want to also talk about a few valuable resources one can use

0:05

to further understand the CT physics.

0:07

Here is one of them, which is a book which I wrote a few

0:11

years ago. This is called the MDCT Physics, the Basic Technology,

0:15

Image Quality, and Radiation Dose.

0:17

There are several other resources,

0:20

such as task group report of the AAPM.

0:23

And one of the aspects which I also highlight is the American Association of

0:27

Physicists in Medicine maintain a protocol page

0:31

where anybody, even a non-AAPM member, can obtain.

0:34

And these protocols are developed based on a

0:38

consensus from all the vendors of each respective vendors,

0:42

how their scanner can recommend it to you to set the

0:46

protocol.

0:47

There's also another resource, very valuable resource for the residents is the

0:51

radiologyinfo.org. This is one of the

0:55

website developed by the cooperation of RSNA

0:59

and ACR, and it has a lot of information, very much

1:03

patient-friendly. And there's also a section on safety and

1:07

radiation dose, which I encourage any viewers to see.

1:11

There are other social media campaign, such as Image Gently and Image

1:15

Wisely, has very valuable information, and

1:19

also efforts being done to educate the public

1:23

about the CT and how we can do. In general,

1:28

CT technology or CT imaging is one of

1:32

the most commonly done imaging in the hospital these days.

1:37

In fact, on a consistent surveys,

1:40

the CT comes in the top 30 major

1:44

innovation in medical science over the last 50 years,

1:48

because the CT images provide such a dramatic

1:52

information quickly to allowing physician

1:56

to diagnose rapidly.
