Encephalocele on Reconstructed CT

HIDE
PrevNext

0:00

This was a nice case of a patient who

0:03

presented with a nasal cavity mass,

0:06

and as you can see, there's this large

0:09

lesion that has mixed density to it.

0:12

Some of it is almost cystic and it's coming into

0:17

the ethmoid sinus, and I really did not expect

0:21

this to represent a meningoencephalocele.

0:25

However, when I looked on the sagittal image,

0:28

you can see the gap in the roof of the frontal

0:32

sinus here, and you can see the lesion is

0:35

communicating with the intracranial compartment.

0:38

And this represented a large meningoencephalocele

0:41

that presented way down

0:44

in the inferior nasal cavity as a mass.
