Case 10

HIDE
PrevNext

0:00

Okay.

0:01

The next interesting case here is a finding

0:03

that we're gonna see in the right colon,

0:06

basically at the level of the ileocecal valve.

0:09

Here you can see where the ileocecal valve is plugging into

0:12

the, uh, to the right colon

0:14

between the cecum and the ascending colon.

0:17

And the CLIA sequel valve is interesting

0:20

because the house to full next to it is really long.

0:24

Um, on the endoluminal views, you can see there's a,

0:27

it looks like more than just a valve,

0:28

but more of a, a diaphragm

0:30

with a tiny little hole in the middle of it.

0:33

You can fly through it to show you how,

0:35

how different it looks from the remainder of the colon.

0:38

This is what's termed a SQL diaphragm or a SQL web.

0:42

It looks very different from the adjacent halal fold.

0:45

So we'll see if we can turn around and fly back.

0:47

So I can show you the backside of that SQL web.

0:53

And if you look and you scroll through on the axial images,

0:55

you can sort of see how, how narrow

0:57

that diaphragm is right in there.

1:03

And this is it in the sagittal plane.

1:05

So basically just looks like a, a diaphragm.

1:09

So this is a finding that's been described with patients

1:11

that, uh, have used a lot of NSAIDs, chronic NSAID use,

1:15

non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drug use as been associated

1:19

with these SQL diaphragms.

1:20

So it's an important finding to make.

1:22

It's not a malignant finding,

1:23

but it is, uh, important to realize that, uh,

1:25

this appearance has been described with inside use.
