Reimbursement

0:01

Okay, I'm just gonna finish off

0:02

with just some reimbursement for those of you in the US

0:04

who might find this interesting.

0:06

And this is the, um, uh, Medicare reimbursement rate, uh,

0:11

for physicians, which does not include the, uh,

0:13

technical fee, but you can see that for CTC is actually, uh,

0:17

favorable compared to what you would get for regular, um,

0:21

uh, abdominal ct.

0:23

And of course the RVU are pretty much double

0:26

what you would get for an abdominal uh, ct.

0:30

Uh, note that CTC has a, um, CPT closed for screening,

0:34

but it's not covered currently.

0:38

So most, uh, private payers in the US

0:41

and I think many of us don't know this

0:44

actually already cover for diagnostic,

0:45

but also for screening CTC.

0:48

And this is I pulled off from the Aetna, uh, website

0:51

and they last year already in line

0:53

with American Cancer Society recommended recommendations at

0:57

decreased age of coverage to 45.

0:59

But you can see that, uh, what I have highlighted in red is

1:03

that CTC is considered medically necessary

1:05

for screening every five years.

1:07

And that's great news.

1:09

This is just a graphic that shows you all the different, um,

1:12

uh, insurers and what they cover.

1:16

Um, and this is available

1:17

through the American College of Radiology.

1:19

If anybody needs this

1:20

or can email me, I'm happy to email it to you as well.

1:24

Congress. Um, there's been a bill

1:26

that has been introduced previously.

1:29

We'll continue to introduce bills, uh, once, uh,

1:31

I think Congress is in order just to show you also

1:35

that there is active CTC Coalition.

1:38

Um, really a collaborative effort amongst many societies.

1:41

There's a lot of support here, uh,

1:43

to increase screening rates, um,

1:45

and to include CTC as a valid option.

1:48

And then I just wanted to show you also

1:49

that the American College of Radiology last year

1:53

to over this, um, very, uh, user-friendly

1:57

but uh, important database to, um, allow patients

2:02

and referring physicians.

2:03

This is in the United States only, uh,

2:06

but define actual medical centers

2:08

and outpatient sites that perform CT colonography.

2:12

And I recommend to you, those of you who are listening, who,

2:16

um, have not joined, that you go onto this site

2:19

and you register your site because you'll get more patients.

2:22

Um, and you can easily just Google ACR my CT

2:25

colonography, find the website.

2:28

Um, it's a very easy registration. This is the.
