Case: Olecranon Bursitis

HIDE
PrevNext

0:00

So this patient presents with elbow pain

0:03

and focal swelling after banging their elbow on the table.

0:07

We see here two projections of the elbow on the frontal.

0:12

We can follow the distal humerus contour down

0:15

and notice the articulations here, Capella with the radius

0:20

and the troia on the lateral projection.

0:23

There is a little bit of an anterior fat pad,

0:26

but no posterior fat pad identified.

0:29

So the anterior fat pad can be a normal finding,

0:31

particularly if it's not sailed out or displaced.

0:35

The radio Capella relationship is maintained

0:38

and Theon appears intact.

0:41

However, there is this focal soft tissue prominence

0:44

over the eon.

0:46

Ab bursa exists over the eon,

0:49

and so when that becomes traumatized

0:51

or inflamed, you can develop a focal soft tissue prominence

0:54

as we see in this case here, which is representative of

0:58

Reon bursitis.
