This is one area that I am very, very scared of.
0:04
Uh, because when we are reading these lumbar spines,
0:08
cervical spines, thoracic spines, we are so honed down
0:11
and focused on our, our, uh, spine, our thecal sacs,
0:16
our spinal canal, our foramina, that there are elephants
0:20
around us and we completely, uh, completely miss,
0:23
uh, those elephants.
0:24
And this is a great example of that.
0:26
And many, many, many times we have seen this, I'm sure
0:31
in the audience there, there are people who have examples
0:34
of this who, and they have called, uh,
0:36
so something like this out,
0:38
but should be very, very careful.
0:40
Either first or last, just forget about the spine
0:45
and look at the surrounding soft tissues, abdominal, neck,
0:49
uh, or, or chest if you're reading the thoracic spine.
0:52
And because you do not want to miss something like this.
0:55
And in this case it was particularly bad
0:58
because for some odd reasons
0:59
for low back pain contrast was given.
1:02
And this makes the miss look even worse
1:04
because there was significant enhancement, uh, of
1:08
that incidental RCC that was seen in this, uh, scan.
1:12
And the patient, uh, there was a, there was a delay
1:16
of at least six to seven months be between this scan
1:21
and the scan when it was finally picked
1:23
up, uh, in this patient.
1:24
So always make sure on these spine, Mrs.
1:27
So look at aorta, look at the surrounding structure so
1:30
that it, it, it is in your report.
