Enhancing Dominant/Unique Focus on Breast MRI - Companion Case

HIDE
PrevNext

0:01

This is a companion case, um,

0:02

another, another MIP projection.

0:04

This one has some artifact on it, um,

0:07

but regardless, this enhancing focus in

0:10

the posterior left stands out to us.

0:13

So we want to look at that subtraction, the series.

0:21

And here we see that this, um,

0:23

enhancing focus in the left breast,

0:28

which may meet criteria for a BI-RADS 3.

0:30

But like I've said on those pair of

0:32

pieces, it's going to be really important

0:33

to look to see if there's a T2 correlate.

0:35

So let's pull up the T2.

0:38

Here's our T2 here.

0:46

And here is

0:48

that finding.

0:52

On our post, our subtraction view, we see this

0:55

enhancing focus here, and on the T2, we see

0:58

a very clear T2 correlate for that finding.

1:02

This is very reassuring and, uh, there's expert

1:06

opinion that if a dominant enhancing focus has a T2

1:11

correlate, we can safely assess this finding as

1:14

being benign and not need to give it a BI-RADS 3.

1:18

This can, um, save the patient from

1:20

having to do unnecessary follow-ups.
