Let's make some anatomic skeletal correlation with

We've previously talked about the humerus,

and we didn't talk much about the upper part of the humerus,

which has a medial epicondyle and a lateral

epicondyle, and these form at various stages of life.

We'll talk about that at another time, but they also fuse at various

stages in life. And these are important landmarks for the

origins of the common flexor pronator mass and the common extensor

tendon. Then we've got our capitellum labeled C,

and it's convex downward.

It is covered by cartilage and capsule, which is seen as this white line,

as is the cartilage of the radius, which is mixed in, in this white

line. Then the cortex of the radius, and then the radius itself

has a concavity. It's somewhat disc shaped.

And an area above here, which we don't see right now, which would be in this

location, way anterior is known as the radial

fossa, which is where the radial head slides into when your arm is

in full flexion and some supination.

Then we've got a radial ulnar articulation, which allows

for some rotation, pronation, and

supination. So that's an articulation all unto itself.

So we got radiocapitellar. There's our radius.

And now we have the ulnohumeral articulation.

This is highlighted by the trochlear groove, which is a groove that

has two flare-shaped components to it.

The trochlear groove is occupied proximally

by the olecranon, which is over here,

and there's a fossa back here called the olecranon fossa.

And then more distally, it's occupied by the

coronoid process. So these two combine to fill

this potential hole or space.

Another important and critical landmark that we have

highlighted before is the sublime tubercle of the ulna, this
