Post Breast Reduction - Case 3

HIDE
PrevNext

0:00

This is a 59-year-old female presenting

0:02

for a left breast screening mammogram.

0:06

The right, uh, side was not imaged as she actually has a

0:09

history of mastectomy on the right. In the left breast,

0:14

we can see on these, uh, synthesized mammogram

0:18

views, some coarse calcifications as

0:21

well as some, uh, coarse calcifications,

0:24

which have more of a rim configuration.

0:27

We see that in both the CC, MLO views.

0:32

Um, we might find this surprising,

0:34

um, with the exception that, um, we

0:38

know this patient by clinical history

0:42

has a history of previous reduction

0:45

surgery on this left side, um, to match,

0:48

uh, her reconstructed right breast.

0:51

We see, uh, looking at the DBT slices, um,

0:55

stereotypical fat necrosis with rim, uh,

0:58

calcifications surrounding an area of fat, and it's

1:01

in sort of that peri- or central location, which would

1:04

also be typical, uh, for a reduction type of surgery.

1:09

The DBT image is on the MLO view.

1:11

We see the same sort of findings, calcifications

1:14

surrounding some fat, and in the history of,

1:17

uh, reduction surgery, these can be considered.
