Post Breast Reduction - Case 2

HIDE
PrevNext

0:01

Okay, this is a 43-year-old female,

0:02

uh, presenting for screening mammogram.

0:05

You can see the, uh, image quality is good.

0:07

You can see the pectoralis muscle, adequate CC

0:10

views, and as well, looking at this in general,

0:13

we can see some increased density here in the

0:17

medial aspect of both breasts on the CC view.

0:20

Some skin thickening along the IMFs here, you

0:23

see, do see a few faint calcifications here, here.

0:27

We look at those CC views, you can scroll

0:30

through the DBT slices here and notice that

0:33

that parenchymal density that we're seeing is more

0:37

along the inferior aspect of the breast.

0:40

In fact, some part of it just seems

0:42

like it extends all the way from the

0:44

nipple towards this inferior aspect.

0:47

These findings we can see in, um, reduction surgery.

0:51

We can confirm this in the patient's clinical history.

0:55

With that knowledge, these findings

0:57

are, can be considered benign, uh,

1:00

and that no further workup is needed.

1:04

Similarly, on the MLO view, we might see a little

1:06

bit of skin thickening here along the IMF as

1:08

part of the surgical incision, and occasionally

1:11

we might see some perilobular calcifications,

1:13

although we don't see them in this case.
