Lipoma - Case 1

HIDE
PrevNext

0:00

Okay. In this case, we have a 69-year-old female

0:02

presenting, uh, for, um, screening mammography.

0:07

In this case, we see good, uh,

0:09

image quality in the right breast.

0:11

Right away we see, um, a very large, um,

0:15

mass here, occupying a very large portion

0:17

of the right breast on this MLO view.

0:20

And in the lateral portion of the right

0:21

breast on the CC view, we pull down those

0:24

two images to investigate a little further.

0:27

Um, we can see that, and there's

0:30

a likely, uh, thin line here, which marks the

0:34

boundaries of this, uh, fat-containing mass all

0:38

the way through this breast, all the way up here.

0:41

And if we scroll through the DBT slices, um, we can

0:44

again confirm that mass, which contains predominantly

0:50

fat or entirely fat, is, uh, encapsulated with a

0:56

benign-appearing margin, nothing contained inside.

1:01

Uh, these imaging features, particularly

1:04

here, as we see here, this sort of

1:05

thin margin goes all the way around.

1:07

It's compatible with a very large lipoma occupying

1:11

almost predominantly the entire right breast.

1:15

Uh, this has benign imaging features.

1:17

No additional workup is needed, no additional

1:19

evaluation, and the patient can return.
